Often referred to as the sister science of yoga, Ayurveda is an ancient system of natural healing with origins in the Vedic culture of India. Ayurveda aims to achieve mind-body balance through guidelines, lifestyle practices, recipes, and remedies.

Join Maria Petrillo, Holistic Nutrition Practitioner in a collaboration with Hilary Steinberg of Jaya Yoga and Sandi Graham of Vintage Kitchen to learn and explore the basic principles of Ayurveda.

Ayurveda believes that food is medicine!

The day will begin at Jaya Yoga with a yoga and meditation class led by Hilary. Following class, Maria gives an interactive talk explaining the the three Doshas, or energies used to describe your food, body, mind, and environment. Learn how to determine your Dosha, (unique mind-body type), as well as the specific diet and lifestyle choices best for your Dosha.

Take a short walk to Vintage Kitchen to participate in a hands on cooking demonstration where you will learn how to make Kitchari, which is considered the ultimate cleansing and healing dish in Ayurveda.
